The PSP Southampton Boat Show, in association with ITV Meridian, will return from 12-21 September 2008 - this year celebrating 40 years of boating!Last year`s Southampton Boat Show saw over 127,000 visitors discover exciting new features, explore the thousand plus boats on display and enjoy everything about boating in one giant show!The 40th Southampton Boat Show promises to be a great occasion as you are invited to look back over 40 years of boating and the Southampton Boat Show. A brand new central stage area will deliver a through the ages fashion Show, screen a 40th celebration film and provide the opportunity to meet some boating stars. There will be hundreds of new boats to explore, world premier launches and on water activity in Europe`s largest Show marina.

COMBI TICKETS
This PSP Southampton Boat Show 2008 / London Boat Show 2009 Combi Ticket allows a single day`s entry to both the PSP Southampton Boat Show (12th-21st September 2008) and the London Boat Show (9th-18th January 2009) or, if you prefer, two single day entries to either individual show.

Choose the day you wish to visit the PSP Southampton Boat Show and your ticket will also be valid on any single day of the London Boat Show or an additional day of the PSP Southampton Boat Show.

ONBOARD
TRY DINGHY SAILING
Kids can try dinghy sailing for free at the Show with the OnBoard (OB) programme. OnBoard is organised by the RYA with main partner TEAMORIGIN, Britain`s Official Challenger for the 33rd America`s Cup, and supported by Sunsail, the British Marine Federation, Sport England and the Foundation for Sport and the Arts.

SEARCH & RESCUE
HM Coastguard, in conjunction with two of its partners, namely the RNLI (Royal National Lifeboat Institution) and GAFIRS (Gosport & Fareham Inshore Rescue) are pleased to provide SAR (Search & Rescue) demonstrations.

Each demonstration will simulate a casualty who has fallen overboard from his boat. The lifeboat will locate and recover the casualty, after which the casualty will be transferred during a formation/winching operation to a Coastguard helicopter for transfer to hospital. The demonstration will last approximately 10 minutes and is subject to operational demands on the day.
